Unlisted Fairfax TGs

Over the past year or so there seems to have been an increase in encrypted TGs on the Fairfax County P25 system. Anyone have any idea what some of these more frequently used ones may be?

Also in the 1300 range I believe they are the Encrypted Coordination / Interop Channels

How do you determine the channel usage (i.e. Coord D11) if the TG is encrypted?

It'll indicate ENCRY (on my SDS100) sure,,, but how have the channel usages been determined if the TG is encrypted?

That's one way to do it. I (sometimes) miss the days when I was on the inside.

Well I looks like some of them belong to GMU Police Department. They have finally done it and are in the process of or have totally switched over from analog 800mhz to the county's trunk system. I had heard that was coming.

They haven't switch anything over as of last night. I wondered how anyone knew to submit those TGs if there not active. I monitored the Fx TRS along side the GMU conventional. GMU still squawking the analog channels.

Their radio system is aging and the university has not been willing I guess until now to upgrade. Makes too much sense for fire response and and police and sheriff overtime details for eagle bank arena. Not sure how that affects the other campuses though

Anyone have news on this switchover? I have one scanner dedicated to the new GMU TGids and not a peep.

Looking for an update to GMU PD. First notice of this was in February. The database was updated, but no changes yet in September.

Mabye we should hold off on the database updating until someone can actually confirm these talk groups are working.

Just my 2 cents.

The talkgroups are active. Officers haven testing them. What is holding up the full time use is the installation of the communications center hardware and software to have dispatch consoles.

That's funny, but I have an SDS200 set to a FL with only the GMU TGs 24/7. I have never heard a peep. !!

Correct Service Tags not on? Correct Favorites List not on?

Why do you ask that? Have you heard anything? I also have them set up in a Relm BK KNG-M800 commercial brand radio. There are no favorites lists or service tags for that radio. It just works.

I was going by what KD4IIW stated that they are active and testing. If you're not hearing anything, maybe you have something set wrong.
