First time I've heard this one

I have seen this in the past. Always encrypted and used by multiple valley area PD units.

It was quite active this evening.

Interesting... for kicks and giggle, I had my TRX-1 and SDS100 sitting side by side and the TRX-1 didn't pick it up once.
Perhaps something I overlooked.

I show
59744 enc with 8444 hits, and
59776 enc with 9674 hits.

When I do side by side comparisons, I use a Stridsberg multicoupler to insure both units get the same signal. My TRX-1 is set to play the "busy signal" when it detects encrypted comms. I don't remember what the SDS100 is set for.

That may explain why I haven't heard this one before. I've only been using my TRX-1 for "Wildcards" and its apparently not picking this up.

I'll have to go back and see if I missed a setting or something on the TRX-1

My TRX-1 also plays the "busy signal" The SDS100 doesn't have a setting. It just plays the garbled encryption.
I noticed however, if it stays on an encrypted channel (like mine did last night) it seems to mute the audio frequently.

Usually I see enc on Unitrunker.
If I pick up enc garble, I lock them out.
Example: HAFB security police.

(In a whisper) not all HAFB security is encrypted. A surprising amount is clear. Shhhhh, don't tell anyone, it's a secret.

IF I RECALL, DONT QUOTE ME BUT I BELIEVE THAT TO BE THE (JCAT) CHANNEL AND IT DEFINITELY IS ENC AND NOT EVERY AGENCY HAS THAT JUST A SELECT FEW SPECIALTY UNITS, ITS A LOCAL PD/FEDERAL OPS CH.
