Why do you keep insisting there is a repeater involved in this? A base/mobile system is all they need.

If you know your geolology, down at Vaughan woods, you are 30 feet above sea level, and alot of tree's between here and where ever the signal is going. Aggie, is also in the way, and Mt. Hope. Well, that's what -I- think.. O.K, we know who, and plans... ( When ) I find it, I'll tell you, +1...lol... Til then, thank you for all the help...

I was on a hill today with a clearing in front of me--no signal blockage--.. I had the 396xt with me set on tone search, and a 3 inch rubber ducky antenna and got 155.580 CSQ. 3 bars.. If it was 20 degrees warmer, I would have stayed longer, but I heard all I needed. Far as I'm concerned, that's another mystery solved. Can anyone else say they've heard anything?

I was in Sanford today, and heard BOTH freq's at the same time. A-K-A -- RX and TX.

A lady asked another where she was going now... The other said she was enroute to Kennebunk Shellfish corp..Why? I dunno, just thrilled I was in the right place at the right time.. Case closed
