unusual hang-time or "lock" when scanning ProVoice frequencies conventionally
has anyone run across this problem after programming an LPE to scan a set of ProVoice frequencies conventionally?
the symptom: out of 20 frequencies that are programmed in the LPE to be scanned conventionally, the radio will periodically "lock" when it encounters heavy activity and will not return to scanning until the LCN progression comes back to the channel it stopped on.
for example, the radio is busy scanning away at frequencies 1-20 and then stops on frequency 4, it will not continue scanning additional activity until the system completes a full LCN rotation and comes back to 4. the ProVoice system being scanned "stair steps" through the LCN, going in a numeric progression (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc, and then returning to 1)
the difficulty here is figuring out why the LPE hangs up on an LCN when the system gets busy.
any thoughts?
