I was rummaging through a drawer the other day and came up with this wiring setup. I don't know how to describe this plug, hence, the picture. There are three pairs of wires coming out of this plug that terminate in phono plugs--two yellow and one red. Since they're phono plugs, I'm pretty sure it's audio-related. The metal portion of the plug is about 6mm wide. I'm sure it came with a piece of equipment but I've never used the plug. (I don't think I have. Hell, I'm 78. There's no telling.)

Any ideas?

I'm going to guess its a 10 pin S-Video (or other) to RCA cable, probably came from a camcorder or early digital camera.

Lwvmobile, you nailed it! I pulled the old Sony digital camera out of the closet and VoilĂ , that's it.

Thanks.

You can do what I do with odd cables. Throw it away and a month later you figure out why you had it. There needs to be cable lending libraries in every city.

I haven't adopted your method yet as evidenced by the fact that the camera is probably 10 years old but I've never used the plug. I switched to a Panasonic pro camera right after I bought the Sony.

Fortunately, many things are converting to USB. Mini, micro, C, etc. beats the heck out of DIN, phono/RCA, phone, XLR, S-video, 3.5mm, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
