Will be coming to Colorado end of july for a few weeks RVing visiting relatives. She lives in Craig. Any encryption out there? Will be bringing my Icom R30 and a 436. Thanks.

Most of Craig and Moffat county are in the clear from the looks of it.

Look in the RR database, I will be in Colorado Springs in June and have been programming my HP2 already. Most El Paso Leo's are encrypted but there is so much more to monitor

Looking at the database for Colorado, I see P25 but also state patrol separate. Want to put in a scan search for my R30. Is state patrol on P25 too or are they separate on analog?

From my experience, State Patrol is almost exclusively on the DTRS P25 statewide system. I very rarely hear them operating on any of the analog channels.
Without all the frequencies it’s hard to follow a conversation with the R30. Took me almost a month to create my state P25 system with all frequencies. Don’t feel like doing that for my trip. I’ll just scan search. Nice thing about the R30 is it scans fairly fast. Thanks for the replies folks.
Don't overlook your BCD436. You might be surprised how well it will work, especially if you can add some kind of outside antenna; even a mag mount.
I loaned my 436 to a friend while he heals from hip replacement surgery. He will buy it when he gets back to work. Considering getting a SDS100 or put my SDS200 in the truck. My R30 does a great job with P25. Might just add the P25 frequencies for Craig and surrounding counties.
I put all the frequencies in the county in my scan list. Tried out yesterday with great success.
Have some great dispatchers in Craig. Listened to a call to walmart. Cop calls in about the incident. Dispatch replies, they are both morons and doesn't care what they do to them.
