UP train on the BNSF Peavine Sub (Arizona)

Just heard a track warrant issued on the BNSF Sub to a UP train going westbound from Abra. Sure enough, a 3 engine UP train went by. Mixed freight, car train, tankers, lumber. First time I’ve seen another railroad operated on these tracks in 18 years I’ve been here. 161.370. Heading to Phoenix now. Leader was UP 6387.

It is a detour because of the Tempe derailment the other day that destroyed a bridge that cut the UP off from the Sunset Route. I would expect this to continue for at least a few weeks until they can get that bridge replaced.

That’s it for sure. I didn’t follow other track warrants yesterday, but I’ll try today. There’s a lot more activity on the Sub.
