Earlier today my other half calls me while he is out on a VSP wreck call...he'd noticed that his scanner wasn't putting anything out,where normally it's constantly fed thru our rollbacks speakers. Upon inspection he finds the screen with the upbootver:rf1.1 there. Removes the batteries and lets them cool,replaces them...same thing. I had him troubleshoot for me by also taking out the sd card,but STILL the same message appears. Being that we have only this one that's been operational since purchasing in March of this year I am at a dilemma. At no point has he turned it loose to let me plug it up for any updates(against my numerous requests) Enough of the small talk...since the 668 will not go thru the "upload" process turning on to let me know which it is...an actual Radio Shack or a Wistler what am I going to have to do? I will have the scanner sometime tomorrow if the SN may be of any help,but from the forum threads I've been reading here before actually joining the site I have several questions and concerns. My current laptop is Win 10 which it was when I went thru the process of activating,etc the PRO-668 in March. If there have been updates that have been missed how will I update mine? Will I have to go thru updating to each newer version one by one before being able to get to the current firmware I need to be using? The message about the upboot will NOT go away even if the sd card is removed from the unit entirely. Neither will the power supply turn off unless I not only make sure NO plugs are plugged in,but must remove the batteries as well. I have a new SD card being brought to me along with the scanner to try and see if it may be a card issue,but have a feeling from what I've read here it's a firmware issue. We depend on our scanner to help us hear VSP and local PD for which company is being called to the scene,which gives us a head start a lot of times for a better response time. Anyone who has sent their 668 off to Wistler to have the upgrades done to the 1080 that can give me an approximate turnaround time on getting my unit back?
