This should be an interesting event to monitor as security should be quite tight. I used to go to Travers Day in the past and noticed quite a mix of agencies. The Belmont should be even more so, I would imagine. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for monitoring.

Well as of last year, all the track operations are analog UHF. What is in the DB here is based on what I've found from my annual trip there and submitted in. Each year you may hear different channels used differently but the security channels remain the same.

Besides the tracks/NYRA UHF. I've been curious of this, could you checkout the tracks 8TAC freq & repeater, 853.0125? This could be in simplex and not always on the repeater, and possibly be on any of the 8TACs in simplex and not just the freq/repeater licensed at the track.

In addition to the db listed, these NYRA freqs I'd include in your scan list

Interesting...I had the busiest freqs already as I used to go over to the practice track in the mornings to do photography, and I often would take either my BC246T or Icom R5. Usually the few weeks before opening day in July are busy on the radio. There's usually a ton of issues with fire sprinklers and TV gear throughout the facility as they reopen. I'll plug those all into my 796D and see what happens. I'm wondering if there's anyone who has experience at Belmont and may have knowledge regarding any agencies who might be present during race day. Thanks for both replies.

Just to update findings...the active NYRA frequencies I've logged lately include: 463.500, 464.675, 469.500, 468.500, 464.440, 462.775, 461.040, 464.425. As far as assignments go, the only ones I trust are the the first two for Security, and one additional from experience...461.290 that is used by the clocker on the Oklahoma track side. All of these may possibly be toned 203.5.

I'm too far away to hear these (in Ballston Lake). I've put all these freqs in my SDS200 and only hear the HVAC company in Scotia. Tried the Onmi-X and the D130J. :cautious: Must be low (very?) power only.

They are. Did you check the DB entry here?

Yes...but things change. And it's possible that I'm the only one on the forum that can hear the track fairly well as I live about a mile away. There's possibly a second Clocker radio for timing practices on the main track. I never spent as much time on that side of Union Ave. so can't say for sure. Oklahoma track was my home away from home for much of my free time doing photography pre COVID.

What was on that 462.775 freq they newly licensed for this year?

I saw on TV and heard from some people that it was beyond crowded

Sorry but I was monitoring so much between three radios that it slipped through the cracks...even though I was using ProScan for two of them. I know that I saw it stopped on that one a few times, but as far as an assignment or usage, no joy. Other than the two main Security freqs, it's difficult to get a sense of what some of the others are used for. And I'm not exactly a total stranger to the goings on over there. I was slightly on overload the last few days too. As far as the numbers go, total admission should be close to a standard Travers Day, with 50,000 being a basic limit that NYRA would stay close to.
