Update - New Androscoggin County SO Radio System

Work continues on the new multi-site, simulcast radio system for Androscoggin SO...

In addition, the old 155.6700 MHz T/R CTCSS 192.8 Hz CTCSS T/R (NAC 351 APCO P-25 Phase 1)simplex system on Goff Hill in Auburn, remains in-service for now.

The new simulcast system on 154.8225 MHz R / 155.5875 MHz T have towers in Durham (Fire Station / EOC), Poland (Ricker Hill at Poland Spring Inn) , Mechanic Falls (Pigeon Hill near Oxford Casino), Leeds (Quaker Ridge), Livermore Falls (Moose Hill, near Fayette), Hebron (Streaked Mtn, near Buckfield)

CTCSS is 206.5 Hz R-only on the 154.8225 MHz output on all towers.

Input CTCSS on the 155.5875 MHz T-side varies by each individual location.

This functional design is very similar to the Oxford County multi-site system, which avoids the expense and extra infrastructure of investing in a voting receiver system.

So far, in the absence of more "official" information, input CTCSS identified to date are as follows

At present, unable to ascertain which input tone goes with which tower = needs more monitoring for confirmation.

It is my understanding that features are in-place with the new system that blocks unauthorized "non-subscriber" radios to be functional in spite of the aforementioned.

I've noticed that I have been hearing ASO on 855.96250 (CTCSS 100.0) from the Center St. area for a few weeks now. Is this frequency part of the new system as well?

How is ASO using 800mhz ? From what ive seen, they are still carrying XTS 1500/2500 and VHF Tait radios. If I'm not mistaking, for a vehicle repeater system, wouldn't they need 800 portables to VHF multi band in the vehicles ?

Yes there using a 800 car repeater and the freq is 855.9625 pl 100,0

They will not become part of that system as they have already made a substantial investment of money and equipment for the VHF system they just installed over the past year and a half. They will , however, explore eventually transitioning to multi-band mobiles / portable to be able to directly interface on the Lewiston - Auburn 800 MHz TRS as needed.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure ASO dispatch will have the ability to get on the system.
