Does anyone know if PD changed for SLC PD where they are now communicating off of VECC on event channels 8,9,10,11,12,13, 14, 15, 16? Seems that these channels have been moved and now are reporting off of VECC. Also itseems that the control channel does not work either, please help with control channel and info!!!

Very intriguing, I hadent noticed this. I wonder if SLC finally has caved and is moving to UCAN. are you sure its just those event channels? any idea on a order based on the old system TG's? looks like its time to research.....

From what I have seen it is in that order, i have not been able to pin point what is what except for 18912 which is Event 16, I believe it is C2C. If anyone else has any insight let us know.

I am starting to scan the event channels on UCAN and working to ID the SLC TG's that are now there. I will edit this post to update as I get more of them figured out.

18656 event 8 -
18688 event 9 -
18720 event 10 -
18752 event 11 - SLC FD Channel 1
18784 event 12 -
18816 event 13 - SLC PD Dispatch "Liberty"
18848 event 14 - SLC PD Dispatch "Pioneer"
18880 event 15 - SLC PD
18912 event 16 - SLC C2C

I still would like to find out if anyone has info as to the reason for this change. And also is it going to be permanant. Any help or information would be great.

No this is NOT permanent. They have no reason to switch to UCAN and pay money for each radio when they already OWN their system and radios. They are doing an upgrade which will make their system a simulcast system finally. It's been in the works for a long time and is finally happening. It should be done by today or tomorrow. I'm not sure which will be the control channel, I'll update that when I get it. UCAN is letting them use the Event channels so that Mutual aid is not disturbed during the process. TGID's should stay the same after the new lineup.

Thank you for the info lavy. look forward to a update later about any new info. One question would be.... why did the not just use the number 2 site while fixing up number 1?

Not sure, over my head tech stuff, but I thought something was said about having to have the whole system quiet to do the work. Pretty small minded answer, sorry!

There was talk last Friday and Saturday (2-10-06 & 2-11-06) on SLC Fire that their radio traffic would change to Zone 12 or something like that. Now I can't find them or SLC PD anywhere either. Any information on either of these agencies would be appreciated.

I notice that they have been eliminated from the UCAN data base. None of either agencies' talk group numbers appear now in the UCAN list.

Yes there is some maintenance going on from what I understand. Last time I was at work (Monday) SLCFD was working off of event channels. They said it was only temporary and should be back to normal within a few days.
