I was looking through the original plans from 2005, which stated that the DRJTBC was going to go to:
"Upgrade or Replacement of Two-Way Radio System
–APCO P25 Compliant VHF Digital System
–Interoperability with NJ and PA Police (800 MHz)"

I am thinking maybe they decided to just go with the 800 MHz using the NJSP trunk system.

Meanwhile, I have been monitoring the new Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge talkgroups (which are all digital) on the NJ State Trunk Central System for a while now. Here is what I have to date:

TG41104: I hear the "New Hope", "New Hope Toll", "New Hope Lambertville", "Washington Crossing", and "Calhoun Street" bridges using this TG routinely. Most comms are to announce they are on patrol and for roll calls. Some of these bridges have guard shacks on both sides of the river, and the officers announce themselves as such, like "New Hope" and "New Hope Lambertville".

TG41136: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41200: I hear what appears to always be maintenance related comms, such as 'check the lights', 'move the cones', 'let them through', etc..

TG41424: There are a lot of affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41296: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41360: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

For reference, here are the districts and their bridges for the DRJTBC:

District 1:
Morrisville-Trenton Toll Bridge (Rt 1)
Lower Trenton Free Bridge
Calhoun Street Free Bridge
Scudders Fall Free Bridge (I-95)
Washington Crossing Free Bridge
New Hope-Lambertville Free Bridge
New Hope-Lambertville Toll Bridge (Rt 202)
Centre Bridge-Stockton Free Bridge
Lumberville-Raven Rock Pedestrian Free Bridge

District 2:
Uhlerstown-Frenchtown Free Bridge
Upper Black Eddy-Milford Free Bridge
Riegelsville Free Bridge
I-78 Toll Bridge (I-78)
Easton-Phillipsburg Northampton Street Free Bridge
Easton-Phillipsburg Toll Bridge (Rt 22)
Riverton-Belvidere Free Bridge

District 3:
Portland-Columbia Toll Bridge
Portland-Columbia Pedestrian Free Bridge
Delaware Water Gap Toll Bridge (I-80)

I am not hearing any comms on the previously used 156.120, 156.135, or 156.225 repeaters, so they may have completed their change-over to the NJ trunk system

TG Update - DRJTBC TGs On NJSP Central System

TG41104: I hear the "New Hope", "New Hope Toll", "New Hope Lambertville", "Washington Crossing", and "Calhoun Street" bridges using this TG routinely. Most comms are to announce they are on patrol and for roll calls. Some of these bridges have guard shacks on both sides of the river, and the officers announce themselves as such, like "New Hope" and "New Hope Lambertville". This would appear to be the District 1 Patrol or Security talkgroup, as I am not hearing any other bridges on here.

TG41136: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41200: I hear what appears to always be maintenance related comms, such as 'check the lights', 'move the cones', 'let them through', etc.. I just heard "78 Maintenance" on here too. I have not yet heard any bridges though.

TG41424: Bridge Units calling NJSP to report an accident on the Rt 1 bridge.

TG41296: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41360: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

Update 8/14/08

I have logged about 300 radios to date that are routinely affiliating with these talkgroups. Here is an update on the activity:

TG41104: I hear the "New Hope", "New Hope Toll", "New Hope Lambertville", "Washington Crossing", and "Calhoun Street" bridges using this TG routinely. Most comms are to announce they are on patrol and for roll calls, which usually occur at the top of the hour. (Heaviest traffic TG)

TG41136: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41168: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41200: I hear what appears to always be maintenance related comms, such as 'check the lights', 'move the cones', 'let them through', etc.. I just heard "78 Maintenance" on here too. I have not yet heard any specific bridges though. (Second heaviest traffic TG)

TG41232: Occassional comms on here but not yet sure who they are

TG41296: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41360: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but I have not heard any comms.

TG41424: Bridge Units calling NJSP to report an accident on the Rt 1 bridge. (Occassional traffic and radio checks on this TG)

TG41456: Occassional comms on here but not yet sure who they are

One more additional crossing not mentioned for District 3:

41424 Link to NJSP Hamilton ---> this is a patch to B2-13/C3-13. I had 2 scanners running this morning and heard the conversation on both B2-13 and 41424.

Yes, I see the same thing with that patch on the central NJSP system.

So far I have logged over 300 radios on this system.

I have also heard several references now to go to 'talk-around', so I am guessing that they have at least 1 simplex frequency, since I did not see any other talkgroup become active after those transmissions.

As of 8/19/08, on the central NJSP system, there appears to be 12 talkgroups set-up for DRJTBC:

TG41104: Busiest talkgroup

TG41136: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios and there have been comms on it.

TG41168: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but no comms have been noted.

TG41200: Second busiest talkgroup - mostly maint. related from my monitoring

TG41232: There are several affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios and limited comms have been noted.

TG41264: There are very few affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but no comms have been noted.

TG41296: There are very few affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but no comms have been noted.

TG41328: There are very few affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios and limited comms have been noted.

TG41360: There are a few affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but no comms have been noted.

TG41392: There are a few affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios but no comms have been noted.

TG41424: There are a lot of affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios and it is patched to NJSP, as noted in the previous post.

TG41456: There are very few affiliations with this TG by Bridge radios and limited comms have been noted.

41232 is definitely 'North' - I heard radio checks going on last night at 2300 hrs., and Easton Toll was talking to Belvidere on that talkgroup...

Hi Scott - It looks like Easton and Belvidere are in the central District 2 though, according to the DRJTBC website.

Did you hear them refer to TG41232 specifically as "North"?

I hear "Easton Toll" and "I-78" on TG 41200 routinely, which would appear to make sense as the 'Central District 2' talkgroup, although the comms I hear are almost always related to maint. activities or lane closure chores.

I have been hearing lots of discussion about 'radio maint" activity, so this may still be fluid!

Starting to make sense based upon monitoring to date!

Also:

Affiliations and comms noted:
41456

Affiliations noted but no comms yet:
41296
41392

There also appears to be at least 1 'talk-around channel' being referenced, which I am still guessing is a simplex frequency.

I do have a correction to the list, Ch. 12 is a simplex freq. I confirmed this last night. I don't know if the radios go beyond that channel wise. I'm not sure where that leaves 41456.
