Does anyone know where to find updated St. Louis County 10 codes? I'm aware of the document on AWH, however, there have been numerous occasions where I have looked up a 10 code I heard and there was no way it listed the correct meaning in conjunction with what I was hearing.

I wish I could help you Justin, but all I can say is to check other 10 codes and see if any of them make sense to the context of what you heard. For example, a while back we had a discussion over the "10-77" code, and I searched the internet for what other areas used a 10-77 for, but unfortunately none of their uses fit the situation it was used by STLCO in. Maybe you will have better luck on the ones your looking for.

Are there any codes in particular that you are looking for? If you post them it is possible someone may know what they are. I have learned the codes out here in st charles county pretty well... and i've noticed that they seem to go together in different areas of the state.

That being said, good luck leaving the state and having ANY idea what they are saying. I was in Ohio and they say "Signal 10" or "Signal 4"... they use "signal" as well as 10 codes which is pretty crazy to try and figure out.

Anyway back to the subject, post up the ones you aren't clear on and maybe the rest of us can be of some help.

Ya, I'd tried looking them up from other sources; no luck.

At the moment, I'm unable to recall any of the 10-codes that I was unsure about. If I hear any, I will surely post them. Everyone else feel free to do the same.

Just heard St. Ann code their station and say "Signal 100. Hold all traffic unless emergency." Weird thing is that units seemed to continue radio operations as normal as did the dispatcher.

Any idea what this is?

FINAL EDIT: Signal 100 in St. Ann = Burglar Alarm

While Signal 100 in St. Ann can mean a Burglar Alarm, it is actually just the station going 10-6 for any reason, alarm or otherwise. I found the wording of it pretty odd since most area pd's used the "signal 100" to refer to holdup alarms. As for the officers continuing normal traffic, I'm not sure why that was unless all the officers talking were responding to the incident.

Out here in st charles county 10-90 is the code for an alarm sounding. It could be a holdup or just a burglar alarm sounding, they usually just say what it is over the air in plain english.

In the case of a burglar alarm or open door, they normally hold traffic until a responding unit can advise the status. They may have had a unit already on scene who could confirm that everything was fine and he just advised that the status was clear. Once the dispatcher and other officers know that everything is fine they then resume normal radio traffic.
