Added new traffic found on various towers. This represents approximately 72 hours of scanning from up here in Box Elder.

If anyone finds this helpful, please let me know, thanks.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

(The zipped attachment has UCAN UASD (Uniden) systems by tower, control channels only, with the traffic that I found on them, and the TGID's I could identify using the database.

Some are empty, while others have lots of traffic. Many of the TGID's are repeated on several towers.

I figure if we can get this information updated from various parts of the state, we could aid our illustrious database administrator by providing him (and us) with the research.

This is all I could receive from Box Elder County. I'm sure that folks further south can add much more.)

What program are you using for these files? I downloaded them but can't find anything that will read them. Thanks

Uniden USD Files

They are Uniden scanner USD files. You can open them with notepad or excel (text to columns, comma deliniated) to extract the data, or if you use a uniden scanner you can just load them in. You can also use the free UASD program from Uniden.

2 TGID's Identified

WVC PD C2C 728945
WVC PD C2C 729686

I was using Scannerbase's recorder last night, and picked up two officers speaking to eachother (talking smack about other officers) on these previously unknown TGID's. I then heard the same two officers speaking to WVC PD Disp on the identified TGID.

Would it be safe to assume that these are WVC PD C2C?

These are radio IDs not talkgroup IDs. If you watch where the radio IDs go, you can figure out which agencies are using which talkgroups.

Radio ID/TGID

Thanks for the info... So the 6 digit ID's generally are particular radios belonging to the system, and these can be found at WVC PD. Any other agencies that use these that you are aware of?

Still learning, always.

Uniden scanners and other gear (not radio shack scanners) can tune into I-CALLs or private radio to radio patches. These are half-duplex private converstations. Instead of a talkgroup showing up, you will usually see a 6 digit radio ID that starts with a 7 (7xxxxx). If you use trunker, you can see the radio ID of all transmissions. This is very valuable data when you are trying to figure out a specific new talkgroup. If you see a bunch of radio IDs on both West Valley Dispatch and on some new talkgroup, odds are that the TG belongs to WVC or some interagency TG.

Every radio on the trunked system has a radio ID (that is how system admins can spot unauthorized radio usage), but I-CALL usage is not that common on the UCAN system. I think the option has not been enabled for many agencies or personnel.

All the radios on UCAN have been "enabled", but it is just a matter of the officers knowing how to use it.
