UPDATES & BANK TAGGING

There are new frequency changes on radio reference. Do I have to manually do it? Won’t the software check to see if anything of the talk groups have changed for a set of control frequencies?

I told it to import the system, thinking it would do an update. It asked for a bank tag title. The bank already has a tag. I left it blank, and after it supposedly got the update, the tag was blank. I tried to re-enter my original tag name in the field and every time I clicked in the tag name area, I got a warning message that only 12 characters are allowed. I already knew that. I click OK , and try to proceed on with my title and I get the warning message again. It repeatedly does that and I cannot even click elsewhere on some other field without getting that warning message. It is as if it is hung up in a circular reference. The only way to get away from it was to totally exit the program. Even after I went back into the program, I was OK till I tried to re-type my tag title and got the same warning run-around. Thank God for back-ups, I just trashed that session and started all over. Why does it do that? I checked the help menus, whenever I find something that might be even remotely close, it does not help. Also, many of the items in the help menu reference the same information, or the information says it is not available at this time.

I can't help too much on your Pro 96 importing. But I ran into the same issue with the bank tagging. If you place your cursor in the Bank Tag box, then backspace, it will take out the blank spaces....that's what's preventing you from typing in your 12 characters.....good luck with your other issues.

Enter cursor in bank tag window on left side. Hit and hold delete. This wipes out blank spaces. I know what I am listening to and dont need bank tags. I enter 12 [............] this gives an underline.

You've already been told about how to solve the bank tag issue. As to the download, Win96 doesn't check anything in the existing bank. It simply downloads all the information you tell it to and overwrites the existing information. If you have some custom setup, you're better off to add changes manually rather than use the web import feature.
