Updating db on pro-197

Trying to get back into listening/scanning with my pro-197, RS trunking scanner. Have data cable to upload new software and have disk that came with it (i think) or i bought it when i bought the cable. The disk only provides info for Vista, XP, and MS 2003. I am using windows 10 (if that makes a difference) anyway i saw an update for my scanner on line but didn't recognize the company providing it.

Can one of my forum buds direct me to the correct site to download any/all update(s) for this scanner.?purchased in 2010 from RS, original owner.

Get some programming software first (eg. Win500) and download the appropriate USB drivers for your OS.

Win500: WS1040, WS1065, PSR-500, PSR-600, PRO-651, PRO-652, PRO-106, PRO-197, PSR-310, PSR-410 Scanner Software for Data Management, Monitoring, and Control

As for CPU and DSP updates - you probably don't need them.

The most reliable and comprehensive database I've found for updates is the Radio Reference database. Get a reasonably priced premium subscription and you can use Win500 or other software to update your PRO 197.

Along with Win500, there is also ARC500 and PSREdit500. No free stuff, however all 3 packages have a 30 day free trial. You can find links for these along with links for user guides for Win500 and ARC500 here...
