have a couple new old stock psr-800 with original firmware. how to update to the U1.8 i believe the phase 2 firmware without ez scan
(edit oddly my used one says U2.0 does that seem correct I thought U1.8 was the last).

before i would just connect to the GRE ezscan and update.

same for the database i am reading the best way is by copying the WS1080 files, from PC onto SD card is this still the best way?

NOT looking for the whistler legacy update right now i am aware of that, and thank Whistler for providing. not looking for the hacked firmware either just the legit GRE psr-800 update

I thought I had the older updates backed up but once I updated the 4 if my PSR-800s, I think I deleted them. I'm sure someone will have them somewhere.

The EZScanDGUpdate_1.7.1.zip file says it's too big to upload.

Thank you the DSP was helpful. If anybody has U1.8 or U2.0 (didn't even think there was a 2.0) please share

I know a PSR-800 is a P25 Phase 1 only just as the Radio Shack Pro-18.
The Radio Shack Pro-668 replaced the Pro-18 as P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 only as I still own both.

The factory update is the way to go for those radios. I have both the RS and GRE versions and the upgrade improved.performance, especially on the local simulcast system. It also adds DMR but no NXDN due to lack of sufficient memory.

The GRE PSR-800 is phase 2 with the newer firmware.
The PSR-800 was originally Phase 1 only. A later firmware update converted it to Phase 2. You are correct that the Pro-18 is Phase 1 only, but can be updated to Phase 2 with the Whistler Legacy Upgrade.

Send it to whistler for the legacy update.....makes it a WS1080. that uses the still supported ezscan for the ws1080.

Bingo
The PSR800 was Phase 1 only when released. GRE released a Beta s/w version for Phase 2 later. I used it to upgrade mine. The later RS Pro668 version had Phase 2 stock.

I thought I had that Beta s/w but can't find it yet.
