If you purchase a used SDS Scanner which has the NXDN and DMR upgrades, can the Upgrades be deleted intentionally and have the scanner back to factory settings?

No. According to UPMan, nothing the end user can do will erase the keys.

Why on earth would you ever want to do that? If there is a DMR or NXDN frequency or system you want to monitor, you will be able to do it. If there were a way to delete the upgrades, you would regret that you did it. The upgrades do not do anything to hinder the performance of the scanner. If you ever decide to sell the scanner, it will be worth more with the upgrades. I would suggest getting the keys from the original owner just in case the scanner ever has to be serviced or replaced for a firmware problem. You would have proof that the keys were in the scanner when you purchased it and the upgrades would be restored by the factory.

Plus it will significantly boost scanner resell value in the event Uniden ever releases anything new & you choose to sell the SDS, you can ask for more $$$ with the paid upgrades installed
