Unless you have an EDACS/ProVoice system in your area, or in an area you travel to regularly, I would skip the ProVoice upgrade. EDACS is end of life, and most systems are transitioning to other system types. In my area, there is one remaining ProVoice system, DFW Airport. I got the PV upgrade on one of my 436HPs when it first came out a couple of years ago, and it works well on the DFW system. However, they are now beginning a transition to P25 Phase II. No point (for me) to have more than one ProVoice capable scanner. The only other PV system that I occasionally encounter is Abilene, TX. They should also move to Phase II in the next year or two.

Where do you get the NXDN for $30??
Paid upgrades are available for the 325P2, 996P2, 436HP, 536HP, and the new SDS100. Upgrades for these are ProVoice ($50) and DMR ($60), Additionally, the 436HP, 536HP, and the SDS100 can also get a paid upgrade for NXDN systems. Currently, the cost is $30, but as Sentinel has now been upgraded to allow NXDN programming, as well as NXDN systems being included in the master database used by these scanners, the cost will be increasing to $60 in the not too distant future. The scanners listed above are the only ones that can apply the paid upgrades. None are available for other Uniden scanners, including the HP-1 and HP-2.

If you have a scanner that is eligible for one or more of these upgrades,. register the scanner on MyUniden. Once you've done that, as well as updated the scanner info with the electronic serial # and checksum, you would then be able to purchase upgrades.

I did all that, but once you purchase the upgrade and your KEY is listed how do you actually get the upgrade? When I go to Sentinel it says I already have the latest Firmware, but I have done nothing since giving them my Credit Card info.
