Our MDS9710 data radios are 900 MHz, used for control point request and indications. A lot of our control point locations have gone to CTC over IP using the wayside messaging servers. I am sure there are still a lot of locations still using MDS radios, just not anywhere near my territory.
Take care

Let's see, UP Sharp subdivision is still on 900 MHz Codeline, and I am sure a lot of the Green River sub is too. Any Subdivisions that is PTC exempt would still be using the MDS codeine radios.

If they're using anything on the original ATCS channels 1-6, it has to be moved to a new set of channels or protocol no later than September of 2025. Anterix obtained most of the 896-901/935-940 band for broadband, but AAR retained 250khz of spectrum (125k per band) for either a 125k wideband channel or 10x12.5k narrowband channels. At this point every Class 1 except CPKC and CSX is moving to ITCnet but I'm not familiar with what anyone but NS is doing on non-PTC active lines.

If those lines are on the Genisys systems in the upper portion of 900MHz then they're not affected, of course.

I used to maintain a fleet of these for SCADA usage. Very rock solid radios. I am not surprised there are a pile of them still in usage. Great radio when all you need is RS232 or contact monitoring. The ones we had were part 15 in the 92x MHz band.
