"UPSTART" aftermarket battrery packs (BP-232N clone)

Has anyone tried the way-cheaper "UPSTART" brand BP-232N battery pack clones?

I bought two a couple days ago to replace a couple of ICOM batteries that died way quicker than I think they should.

I havnt had them long enough to really comment on capacity or life, but one thing I noticed is that when they are charged in an ICOM factory charger they both cause a flashing yellow "fault" indication when they reach what I believe is a state of full charge. They work, so I have no idea what the fault indication is trying to tell me.

I also have a few aftermarket dual slot chargers. They don't have a fault indicator in them and if I change in one of those I wouldn't even know there is anything different about them.

Has anyone else used the "UPSTART" ICOM clone battery packs and what was your experience with them?

A bit more info... they put the factory ICOM charger into fault mode after about 1/2 hour, no matter what state of charge they are in. That being said, the factory charger will not realistically charge these batteries.

By batteries that are known to work for your radio. Buy true and tested batteries that are good quality aftermarket batteries. PM Me and I will be more then happy to direct you to said suppliers.

Ya, I know where to get the factory ones..

I was just hoping for a miracle that they were just as good at half the price.... guess not.

I emailed the manufacturer. Fist they immediately responded by demanding the sales order number. I gave that to them and that was the last communications I got (close to a week ago). So, a lame company making lame batteries I guess.
