Upstate Hospital Exercises 5/17

I'm hearing 2 Palmetto 800 talkgroups active on Site #19 this morning.

36720 in digital mode is being used to coordinate activities for an emergency exercise at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

15744 in digital mode has been heard coordinating communications between Greenville EMC (medical center?) and Allen Bennett, Hillcrest, and other nearby hospitals.

21584 (SCMA 2) is active too with a "unified command." Regional 1 is also being coordinated on that TG.

Also hams on 146.61. So far I've only heard Greenville hospitals on it.

The Spartanburg event is a NDMS (National Disaster Medical System) exercise with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Simulating a radiological contamination scenario. I think it's taking place at the Piedmont Interstate Fairgrounds in Spartanburg. I assume that the Greenville hospitals are co-participants.

Great exercise, BUT comms from Patewood Memorial Hosp were poor. So there is another 800 MHz dead spot. Also I-Tac3 Jeff and Ronny checking radiaton levels.
