Urban Shield is a one of a kind training event intended to bring the components of the National Response Plan to life in an urban setting. The National Incident Management System will be utilized to coordinate a large scale exercise with over 20 training venues that include actual or simulated Tier 1 Critical Infrastructure Sites.

An Incident Command System structure, with Area Commands, will manage the many training sites in a large geographic area throughout Alameda County. A Unified Command will be utilized in training events requiring multi-discipline responses. Interoperable communication systems will be activated to evaluate and test the various components during this event.

Urban Shield will incorporate key elements of real-world emergencies and major critical incidents. This 50+ hour continuous training exercise will test your team’s leadership and problem solving skills. This training will incorporate some levels of stress, anxiety and physical exhaustion designed to simulate a sustained response.

Urban Shield is a unique training event that will allow participating agencies a practical opportunity to evaluate its team’s level of preparedness and ability to perform a variety of intricate tactical operations.

The dual benefit of this event allows each agency to evaluate its own tactical capabilities while training together to identify our ability to cope with large scale events at a Regional level. Urban Shield will challenge the best of Law Enforcement S.W.A.T. teams in a full field exercise.

Urban Shield is presented in cooperation with the following agencies:

Alameda/Contra Costa Transit District
Alameda County Fire Department
Alameda Police Department
American Medical Response
Amtrak
Anti-Defamation League
Bay Area Super Urban Area
Security Initiative
East Bay Regional Parks Police
Federal Bureau of Investigation
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
Oakland Police Department

Most activity was on ALCO-Mutual Aid - Tac 1 (talkgroup). Held at Camp Parks. Mostly consisted of arrival/departure times at the CP's, in addition to the team's overall score. Team scores were across the board. There were DNF's (did not finish) for Boston SWAT. They "DNF" the last exercise because a team member was tired and could not finish. Majority of the participants scored in the 120-140 range. The CHP SvAT scored at 150+ points.

Jet lag for Boston eh ?

I also heard traffic on the Coroner's Talkgroup, Medical Mutual Aid 1, and ALCO Sheriff TAC 8

Also one of the Fed-Local Interop channels popped up briefly, but I have to research the logs for that.

Regarding Boston,
Only info was that a team member was unable to complete the last exercise, needed a ride back to one of the CP's, and that their score was a "DNF".

Also monitored sporatic activity on 157.125 (Marine Ch. 82A). Comms indicated a possible backup to the primary channel. Normally not much activity monitored on this freq.
