Urgent dallas city 911 system down!!

At this time ALL Fire,, EMS, and Police units are patrolling streets aas 911 CITY is down.

Dallas Fire Rescue has sent units to the Dolphin Rd Maintenance/Training base to 'prepare the backup dispatch center' as a precaution.

Police spokesperson is quoted over on the DallasNews site saying 'lines are coming back up now."

From DPD spokesman, excerpt "The 911 system went down at approximately 7:33pm this evening due to maintenance on the HVAC for phone systems at City Hall. During a 22 minute period incoming calls would have been picked up by other city towers."

What does that even mean? Calls will be picked up by other towers?

Obviously, he's thinking cell phones, instead of the actual 911 calls, which were not getting through to the dispatch centers.

At least nothing major (that we know of) happened during the outage. I did hear a couple of the fire units call for PD to be dispatched to incidents they found while "patrolling district", and one structure fire, in West Dallas, was found the same way, by an engine company out cruising their territory.
