If you have a scanner and stream, I would start adding any wild land fire frequency in your scanner. The next 48 hours starting tomorrow lots and lots and lots of lightning will be moving over the state. Little to no rain may fall from these storms. Rain may come down heavy here but a block down may get nothing. Fuels are so very very dry for this time of the year. These fires have been going big in short time frames. Some fires have made 1000 acre runs in 1 hour in your state. spotting has been a very big problem on the fires down south and east of the state. Lighting can drop out of the sky as far as 20 miles away. be ready if a fire starts near u in a storm eratic winds will carry a fire long distance in a short time frame. The MT Hood area has been quiet so far. There is a red flag or a fire weather watch for almost the entire state. So guest who live near forest have known to listen our scanners for forestry fire fighters because the word evacuate gets out faster then a reverse 911 can send the message out. Thats why california folks listen to CDF scanners alot on the net because of the quick information that is given over the radios. Get ready its going to hit the fan tomorrow.
