Hello all,
I am a VHF fan in The Netherlands and noted VHF 30-50 Mhz propagation towards The Nethelands.
In the past ( around 1990) I was able to identify quite some stations by their callsign.
I now don't hear callsigns which makes identification of station harder.
yeserday andtoday I heard four stations that I could not identify.
It is a bit difficult for me to understand the addresses mentioned, which could give a possibilty to ID the stations.

The first one is on 33.96 ( no PL code logged) mentioning a Road with number 320 and the West Boston Post Road.
( Maybe Larchmont Fire??). A recording can be heard on:
33.96 22 feb 23 1641UTC.mp3 | Powered by Box

another station is on 33.90 with PL code 203.5:
33.90 22 feb 23 1653UTC.mp3 | Powered by Box

33.58 PL 114.8 mentioning Route 68
33.58 23 feb 23 1649UTC PL114.8.mp3 | Powered by Box

33.78 PL 77.0 giving the name ".......Valley Rescue" and mentioning Wallington, 20 Maynard Road?
33.78 23 feb 23 1640UTC PL77.0.mp3 | Powered by Box

I hope somebody can help me with the identification.

Regards from The Netherlands, Max

Hi Max,
33.96 CSQ is Westchester County NY fire alerts. The address of RichBell Road with an apartment is the Larchmont Acres apartments. (Cross Street is Larchmont Acres and West Boston Post Road, which is US Route 1)
33.90 203.5. Just a guess, is Muskingum County in Ohio. The dispatch of "New Concord" and 33.90 licensed there.
33.58 114.8 is Yarmouth MA, route 6A, not Route 68.
33.7800 77.0 is used by Southwest New Hampshire Fire Dispatch.

Many thanks Mike ! As I am not a native English speaker it is not always easy to understand the names that are mentioned, so I am happy you could identify the stations. I have the idea now already the reception of these stations is better than during the last period of high sunspot activity. So, let's hope it still gets better ! Thanks again, Max ( The Netherlands)

This has been one heck of a winter. Between almost daily reception of California Highway Patrol here on the East Coast, and the reception of the airport in Aruba, this has been one heck of a time. And without anything fancy. A broken dipole on a scanner that is allegedly terrible with VHF (The SDS 200).

Also on that last one you heard Deerfield Valley Rescue which is in Wilmington, VT. They are dispatched by SWNH Fire Dispatch. That's a very pretty area here in New England. If you ever find yourself here in New England, I highly recommend visiting that corner of the world.

33.900 is Guernsey Co, Ohio. Station 200 - Cassell Station is dispatched by Guernsey Co 911 dispatch center. WNYM685. Station 900 - New Concord is in Muskingum Co and can be dispatched by Guernsey. Muskingum Co does not use 33.900.

Here is the VHF low band antenna at Cassel Station.

The first 35 seconds of recording 33.96 CSQ "60 Control" sounds like Lancaster Co Pennsylvania due to the long hang time after the voice ends. Also mentions 39. Garden Spot Fire Rescue in New Holland, Lancaster Co Pennsylvania is 39.

60 Control is Westchester County in Valhalla, NY, just north of NYC. UHF is replacing Westchester’s low band channels, so enjoy it.
