US Coast Guard Open House

I went to the USCG Base open House down here, I'm actually lucky enough to hear the base from my house. Interesting enough the most active frequency aren't the base frequencies bu UTAC3 (453.8625) is quite active with traffic, not just from the city and the county police but the Coast Guard itself!! The base frequencies (171.2375 &171.3500) are somewhat active but not like UTAC3. Thought it was kind of cool I'm hearing all the action for home!!

Some day I'd like to go to one of those. I remember being involved in the open houses. They usually had us march around. I was on the rifle drill team, and we usually had to perform.
That was back in 1993, though. I'm sure a lot has changed.
