I've been kicking around this idea of starting this thread for a while but now I think its time.
If you dont know me by now, I usually try to come up with some sort of "off the wall topic" radio related or not!

We all must admit we enjoy are toys like the scanners, PC's, motorcycles, boats, guns and cars ( and what ever esle trips your trigger). But with the price of fuel, tax increases and Population growth I got to ask you folks what do you think is the reason for our decline.

We can blame this on the current government administration but what good does this do?
We, the people, put them in office, right?

On this board I have realized a majority of the Kansas Forum posters are government employed, hold a Bachalor degree or less, and are 35 to 50 years of age. ( Im not even going into race)

Most of us are averaging 32,000 - 40,000 income ( as government employees) 10g below the national average.

Now, Compared to the rest of the states, WE ARE POOR! I guess if you wanted to break it down to social classes we are what I would call upper poverty class or lower middle class if you looked into the last census statistics.

In Wichita, our money makers are in aircraft, and thats slowly loosing ground here! Other incomes include oil production, i.e. Koch Eng. but it has been an up and down struggle to suck out crude from the sand and the fields are looking low.

What about Farming?.....Well, I'm not sure where to go with that. Most of the meat Cargil processes if from Canada. (My aunts works in Admin, at Cargil, thats how I know) besides that, when the last time you talked to a cattle rancher in Kansas? Most of the ranchers I knew are gone or cashed out like the Garvys! Hell, I havnt been to a dairy since I was a kid!

We as Kansans, got to think of somthing to generate some cash around here or Kansas will become a Ghost State!

Is there anyone in Silicon Valley or in Textile industry want to move to Kansas? We Are cheaper then Mexico!!!!
