US1 on 11175

FWIW I caught US1 calling on 11175 at 1700utc, Offut responded but US1 had trouble hearing, Offut told US1 to switch to 11220, There, I couldn't really hear US1 but apparently it asked Offut to go to another frequency or secure I guess because Offut acknowledged and I lost them from there

I wonder if they try that out just to see how it works. I wouldn't think they really need 11175 over the US.

I once heard AF-2 checking in on 5616 heading across the N. Atlantic, it was soon after 9-11.
