I was wondering the same thing. I noticed it was silent this morning, too!

Thanks for the confirmations.

Just curious who is submitting updates for the new Air Force Academy talk groups. I have a few updates as well. Let me know if these make sense and jive with what you hear!

52033 Bio-Hazard Team (not to be confused with the hospital unit's Bio-Environmental Ops)

52034 Cadet Medics

52057 Snowplow Ops

52071 Airfield "Ground" Safety (they also call it "AF-1" for Airfield-1) Used for approval to cross runway/taxiways

52072 Airfield "Skytrain" Ops (they also call it "AF-2") Used for approval and coordination with Glider Ops ("Skytrain" refers to the aircraft that tow the gliders)

52073 306 FTG (Flying Training Group) This is the group in charge of all the training squadrons. They conduct radio and status checks with all the squadrons on this channel at 6:45 am each morning. They also discuss the weather and effects on upcoming ops for each training sq.

52079 94th FTS (Flying Training Squadron) - Glider Training

52082 98th FTS - Parachute Jump Training

52084 557th FTS - Aircraft Flight Training

Here is some additional info (from my listing of Southern Colorado radio terms) that will assist whoever else is logging USAFA comms.

Linebacker: (Military/USAFA) This is the callsign for 557th Flying Training Squadron (557 FTS) operations supervisor (ops sup). The 557th conducts powered flight training for Air Force Academy cadets using 12 T-52A aircraft. Linebacker can be contacted on the Eagle Traffic / Linebacker frequency of 123.5 MHz and also on the trunked radio system talk groups.

SOF: (Military/USAFA) Supervisor of Flying. Callsign is “Vader”. Phone number 719-333-1162/3267 and contact frequency 121.25 MHz and trunked radio system talk groups.

Vader: (Military/USAFA) Callsign for the Supervisor of Flying (SOF). Phone number 719-333-1162/3267 and contact frequency 121.25 MHz and trunked radio system talk groups.

I just grabbed a few definitions so if you are curious about a call sign or term, let me know!

Updated. I got rid of some descriptions that shouldn't have made it into the database, and renamed them airfield ops 1/2/3/4 for now, until actual usage is determined.
