Does the USAF use any other frequencies besides the ones that are dedicated to the HF-GCS? If so, what are some other freqs that I can try? Are they ever on the COTHEN network?

Yes, they've been known to use discrete freqs that aren't usually on the standard lists, and they have their own ALE setup on 2 different nets - one used as a Secure Internet protocol, the other Non Secure. I don't know whether they've ever used COTHEN but I sorta doubt it, given they have their own much more massive set of freqs to choose from. The Worldwide Utility News server (which is linked on our Utility Monitoring wiki) is the single best place to find freqs like this. 73s Mike

Ok cool, thanks! I just won a bid on Ebay for a Realistic DX-302, it should be arriving in a few days! I'm sure it'll blow this portable out of the water!

I have a Yatchboy 400pe, it's a great radio. I have it hooked up to a longwire right now. I'm sure the Realistic will outperform it by a mile though.
