Periodicaly I hear " You've entered restricted airspace " warnings on VHF Guard. Any Ideas what location these transmissions are originating from ?

Most likely, they are coming from whichever ground radar is picking them up. Around here, you have a ton of possibilities... Potomac TRACON, Andrews AFB, Langley AFB, etc... also, it could be air-air if someone (either military or civilian) actually saw someone else enter the zone. There is a HUGE amount of restricted airspace in a 50-mile radius of DC. Almost all of DC, pockets up to Frederick, most of Baltimore, anywhere near DCA, IAD, BWI have restrictions. Also, in southern MD you've got Pax River and Calvert Cliffs NFZ's.

If you can hear the 243.0 guard freq from the DC area, the warnings come often. There is always some jamoke violating a no-fly-zone in one of the many areas around DC and the Virginia Capes military areas.

When I lived in Bowie, I had a great area for listening to those warnings. They came so often I wanted to lock out the freq but was always afraid I'd miss the "big one" where someone got intercepted and blown away, even though that's almost never going to happen since the DC-ANG's F-16s have several ways of head-butting aircraft away from an area. If you listen to their TAC freqs, you often hear them practicing those maneuvers along with methods to identify an aircraft's registration numbers. They even do this with commercial airliners - fly up under the belly and then drift back and to the side so passengers can't see them. As one F-16 pilot recently said, "If they see me, they're going to freak out and lose their minds."

Well, to the pilots credit, the rules surrounding the DC ADIZ are very complicated, and sometimes clearance isn't granted promptly either. There's also three minor airports that are located inside the ADIZ, and special rules apply if the aircraft are based at those three airports... it leads to a lot of confusion. Also, aircraft flying by pilotage are not required to have complex navigation available; how are you supposed to know that you're 100m inside a restricted area when you're flying by eyesight?
