USB adapter cable for butel software??

Has anyone ever used one of these adapters with a 246T and the ARC246 software, and have it work correctly? I was thinking of trying it out, but wasn't sure if it would function properly, since it is supposed to be a serial cable connection.

I haven't used this one, but it should work OK. It already has the USB to Serial adapter built into the cable. It provides the same function as if you bought a usb/serial adapter cable and plugged the cable that came with the 246 into it.

This cable replaces the serial cable that came with the 246. The usb/serial adapters work fine with ARC 246.

Yes but you have to download a driver for the cable on the Uniden website. You have to register and then you'll have access to the downloads. Click on downloads and then register. After you have logged in click on download area. Then click on USB-1 in the download page and download then the cable will work and your computer will communicate with the scanner. I spent hours trying to get it to work and had to download the USB-1 driver before it would work. I got a lot of help from the members on here. I don't think I would have ever got it working without them.
