TRX-2: USB jack broke off

so, 6 months after purchase, the USB jack broke off and fell inside the scanner today. I've emailed ScannerMaster to see if they will fix it, but I bet I'll have to send it to Whistler and wait, wait, wait.

Never had a problem with the Uniden's.

If you have a problem with Whistler, perhaps you
need to purchase something else.
I've used Whistler on several repair jobs with
prompt and excellent results..

Yes, and you didn't mention what model you are using...

As solid as they are this issue is certainly odd...

I'd try to remove the broken part with some needle nose pliers.

I would leave it alone as any "fixing" of the radio may void the warranty. Call or simply send the radio back to Whistler.

Never had a problem with the Uniden's.

How in the world did you do that?

As far as repair - I'm not sure why comparing this issue to your Uniden experience is relevant at all but since you've brought it up - all of the last 3 Unidens I bought (396, 436, 536) had to be returned to Uniden due to "defects". I've never had to return a GRE or Whistler radio.
