Suddenly my main PC is not seeing the BCD436HP any longer. Neither in Sentinel nor as a mass storage device in Windows Explorer. Another scanner model and brand I have is readily recognized though.
Installed Sentinel on another PC and connected the same BCD436HP and Windows reported the USB device was not recognized and failed to connect. Turned off and on the scanner and connected and reconnected several times and got the same error over and over. Tried other cables too. No luck.
I had the USB connector replaced earlier this year out of warranty due to an intermittent connection. Maybe it has failed again.
Any suggestions? I could wait until Uniden calls for my scanner for the clock repair and then add this to the service request. In the meantime is there any other way to update the data and the firmware?
Thanks,

KR3LC I too had the same problem on my 436 and tried all of the above mentioned solutions with no success. I eventually came to the conclusion that either the usb port had gone bad as far as the transfer of data went - the unit could still be powered with the port. Or that the card holder inside the radio had gone bad. That assembly is notoriously flimsy. Anyhow I ended up swapping out the radio for a totally new unit which the vendor ( Peter at Stuart Electronics in NYC) was kind enough to do. This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but it was my solution as nothing else worked. A trip to Uniden might be necessary. Good luck!
