wheres a good place to get 1 for use with cable broadband at a reasonable price :)

DISREGARD - I was thinking you were asking about a regular USB to Serial adapter - I was hunting for one diligently last week and found these wired ones, and they were cheap enough to make me doubt they were any good - I was wrong and hopped in without reading carefully as supper call was issued by the war department! :).. Oh, well, we senior-geeks are allowed.. :)

As a matter of fact - I just bought 3 with Driver cd's cheap ($14.49 total!) and delivered free from TX - eBAY
seller was kj189 and I have no relationship with her other than being pleased with price, quality and communication!

ok, will be more specific wireless adapter / USB for a desktop.. if that make a difference. am using a PCI card now & new pC will only have USb slots

I haven't gotten the new PC yet, old 1 is a HP

What kind of computer, what kind of modem and finally, what kind of router, if any?????
router & desktop adapter are D link G 108 airplusXtremeG. modem have no idea its part of the "cable box" that everything else is plugged into

In general, I'd recommend getting a wireless adapter that is from the same brand as your router. That usually ensures compatibility. In fact, if you go to D-Link's website and look up your router's model number, it might even give you a list of compatible adapters.

thanks! Maxman, I will do that:)but since Xtreme G has beeen update ( ita a frw years old) probably all they would have would be the "N" technology , I thinks that's the latest thing

I went to dlink web site & I think I found what I ened.. I thought since technology was 4-5 yrs old . would no longer be parts available or support for it :) I was wrong
