I have an FT450 for my HF activities and was also interesting in monitoring some HF USCG and other types of aircraft. I was curious if there were specific frequencies that I should put into the memories that may produce some results. I am in Ohio if that matters and have a G5RV JR antenna.
Thanks.

Coast Guard HF calling

I also have an FT-450 and I love it! Getting back to your question about Coast Guard HF. 2.670 USB is the
main frequency that I hear traffic on here in the Pacific Northwest. Also fun to copy HF aero freqs. and a lot more traffic to be heard. I listen to San Francisco air on 5.574 USB fairly often... Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I am sure there will be plenty more posts to come!

The COTHEN frequencies are your best bet.
Also try 5696, 8983, 11202.
