USCG Depoe Bay and Newport

USCG air ops and sea SAR : Anyone know the RX/TX distance they are capable of? Can the UHF sys (Air or sea) they use be picked up from the Willamette Valley?? Within 20, 50, 100 mile radius ? I'm about 47 miles

Yes and no...if they are on VHF, you might hear them on the western edge of the valley if they are above the Coast Range height, UHF not so much. I've had good luck hearing UHF ops out on the beach itself.
