use of 453.825 (127.3) by CHP

Hearing a lot of traffic on this freq, def CHP but seems to be scattered from SF, Marin and up to Sta. Rosa plus some 22 units on on Hwy 80. Anyone know for sure why they are using this rather than their low band freqs? Could it be FSP units? Maybe simulcasting the low band freqs?

Its generally a simulcast. The dispatcher may be responsible for monitoring the low band and the UHF side for traffic, so they must multiselect both.

UHF traffic is mostly ABC agents, DMV investigators etc.
