I was wondering if there is anywhere online that has PDF files of Motorola user manuals. I'm looking for the STX 821 in particular. I've googled without any good results. I know I once saw a place once before but can't remember where

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

lol, thanks for the help. Only problem is the text is sideways. I guess you can't help me with that. I'll just have to turn the montior on its side

Easy to fix - in Acrobat reader, select VIEW, then ROTATE VIEW, then the direction to rotate, or if you have the latest version, look in the toolbar - you should see what looks like a little blue sheet of paper and a little white sheet of paper with a curved arrow - click to rotate.

One problem, I don't have either option in my acrobat reader. I think I have an older version.
Poke around, the feature has been in acrobat for a while... They like to move things around in the menus when they change versions, so it might be somewhere else or named differently...
Or you could always upgrade, since it is free, if not necessarily painless...
