I'm planning to buy a used DTS-96 scanner and want to read the user's manual or specifications before I buy.But I cannot find it.I know it is similar to radio shack pro-96 but they're not the same.

I want to know it's frequency range and if it can receive military airband?

Or are there any suggested scanner for military airband?

Thanks

Welcome to RR,

In case you have not found this information yet:

So far, I have not found a manual online.

Hope this helps,

Hi,
I actually wrote that review on the DTS-96 :)

I don't have a DTS-96 any more but from what I remember it does not over the UHF military air-band at all. If you need this then you will need to look at something like the AOR8200, Icom R20 or another wide band radio.

If you have questions about the DTS-96 let me know, I have not owned one for a few years but still remember a lot about it.

The attached image may be of some help. As you can see, neither the PRO-96, nor the DTS-96 do Military Airband.

I now decide to buy a used pro-2006.Will this scanner work well on civil and military airband?

Is it possible that military airband in some countries/areas are digital and encrypted?

After a quick Google-search, here is the link to the Radio Shack support page listing the 2006's specifications:

Pro 2006 scanner specifications

Encryption and digital specifications used by military will vary from country to country, and system to system within a country, and possibly from event to event on a given system.

Hope this helps,
