Hi everyone,

I have the SDS 100 and BCD436HP with GPS accessories shown in pictures.
I am trying to figure out how to get the GPS to work. I have watched a bunch of videos & it all seems plug & play. I have also updated the system database to 3-17-2024 & have updated the firmware.

When I attach the BC-SGPS to the SDS 100 it shows its connected to GPS but wont load my location. I used the 90210 zip code & I am in the mid west.

When I attached the BC-SGPS & the others to the 436HP it doesnt show connected to GPS.

I have no clue what I am doing wrong. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

DID you turn on the entire database in the menu? That kit works great with my BCD325p2 BCD436 and SDS100.

Entering any zip code enables the full database and therefore retrieves objects in proximity to the zip code entered. Albeit the OP didn't enter the correct zip code for their area if they are indeed in the "midwest" as they described. 90210, perhaps the most famous zip code known to man, is of course Beverly Hills which last I checked is NOT in the midwest. I don't own a GPS unit so I have no idea if this has any effect to its proper operation

I think the zip became famous here on the forums because of the late Paul Opitz. Paul suggested users enter that zip in to the scanner, and after the scanner loaded up everything for that area, to then plug in the gps as a validation test to confirm gps is working and or proper settings were being used as it should then center itself in the zip code the user is actually in.

To be clear:
Just the act of entering a Zip code does not of itself enable the full database. That can also be used on location-enabled fav. lists.

#1: Use the BC-UTGC and the BR-344S4 with the SDS100 (the BC-SGPS is a POS)
#2: Verify your baud rate is set to 4800
#3: You never said if you are actually seeing the GPS icon on the display - please verify.
#4: As I said above,
Edit the display on the SDS100 to show lat/long.
Easier to Read SDS100/200 Digital Scanner Manual
Then you CAN SEE exactly what is going on.
