How well will aluminum work as a receive only antenna compared to that of Copper used in making the J-Poles?
I am going to build one cut for the VHF Aviation band (AM). The measurements used in the project are in metric, so I converted them to U.S.
I am trying to find the Center freq. in the Aviation Band.
Is it 127.75? because, in my area of Amelia, Virginia, this frequency has activity on it. Since I am not going to Transmit on it, I am going to cut the material for this frequency.
I can also opt to use PVC and encase the elements inside to weather-proof it.
I am also using a "T" conduit that has a removable cover to allow access to disconnect the terminals for transporting. It's going to be as a portable/base.
Has anyone here ever built something like this?
