Using ProScan to program a BC125AT

I'd like to use the RR database to program my 125AT are SCAN125 and ARC125 (or Uniden) my only options or can I use ProScan? I have used ProScan for my SDS100 and have a 125At on the way.

My big question is. Why would you want to spend more money on software when you already have bought and paid for software that works for you and also will work on your new scanner that you already know how to use?

The BC125AT is listed as supported by ProScan

ProScan supports the BC125AT, BC250D, BC296D, BC346XT, BC346XTC, BC780XLT, BC785D, BC796D, BCD160DN, BCD260DN, BCD325P2, BCD396T, BCD396XT, BCD436HP, BCD536HP, BCD996P2, BCD996T, BCD996XT, BCT15, BCT15X, BR330T, SDS100, SDS100E, SDS200, SDS200E, UBC125XLT, UBC126AT, UBCD3600XLT, UBCD436PT, UBCD536PT, & USDS100 scanners.

Yes, definitely go with Proscan. Its UI (user-interface) is second to none & its author is an active member on these here forums always willing to lend a helping hand. Can't go wrong with Proscan

I’d rather use proscan and will not buy anything else if it will work with the 125 the same way it does the sds100 and, I guess it will.

Well if you have Proscan & a 125AT already, why not just give it a try?

It works basically the same with some differences as you may know. The SDS100 database is accessed using the 'Favorites Editor' menu. The 125 database is accessed using the 'Database Editor' menu. Also the SDS100 is a DMA type and the 125 is a bank type.

Use a different folder for the instance running the 125 so the config and logging files don't get mixed up.

My 125 has not yet arrived. Trying to get familiarized before it gets here.

Well I'll chip in here and say:

1) PROScan is very well respected and supported
2) My Scan125 also has the credentials of PROScan but it does not support Radio Reference data import with their subscription accounts
3) Others

I think you need to look at ALL programs and decide what you want to do (e.g. programming, full PC control, logging etc. etc.)

Try both PROScan and Scan125. NOTE! If you think you will have more than one scanner then PROScan would be your better choice as Scan125 is dedicated to the Uniden 125/126 series of scanners.

Just my experience but I like the ARC products. I had gotten it for my 125 and followed suit with my other radios because I had already learned the software, so little learning curve.
