Hi All,

I'm a longtime reader/lurker, first time poster. Had a question regarding the use of ProScan using a Windows based phone. Has anyone here successfully installed ProScan onto such a device?

What I would like to do is use an SDS200 in my vehicle. However, because of space constraints, it's impossible to mount it in or under the dash or anywhere near the center console. My idea was to mount the scanner under the seat and use the phone running ProScan as a quasi-remotehead.

Although Windows phones haven't been made for several years, there's still readily available on ebay and could easily be mounted to a phone holder on the top of the dash or mounted to the window.

If not a phone, has anyone successfully installed ProScan onto a Windows based tablet? Dell used to make a popular 8" Windows tablet that can still be found on the used market. Although an eight inch screen is a bit large for use in a vehicle, perhaps it's something to consider if a phone isn't the answer?

Thanks All. Looking forward in getting some feedback about this idea. And apologies in advance if this has been brought up previously. I hadn't found anything when doing a quick search.

Cheers,

Fritz

I don't see how installing/running Proscan on a Windows phone would be possible, you can't execute .exe files on the phone
