Since attachments is turned off in the Tavern forums, Petman this is for you.

You could do as suggested in the tavern and hit the quote button then highlight and delete all the text that you don't want & just save the part you wanted to quote . or
If you want to quote just one sentence or portion of a post what you do is this.
Find the part that you want to quote and high lite it
right click on it while it is highlighted and click copy
then in the box at the bottom of the page where it says post reply click it
where it says message body click on the box that says quote
right click beside it and paste then click the quote box again.
type your response below it.
