Have heard USNW has begun training for their new P25 system.

Next phase is the "burn in" of the system with initial users being security and fire.

It would be advisable for folks to start searching for the LMR system frequencies... not sure which band they are going to be in...

My best guess would be 380 MHz, in fact if I was close I do a search, but the system was still in the construction phase... I'm surprised Atterbury, MUTC, Knox, and Crane are not linking up a system for all to use since there is much back and forth travel.

I know I am going to sound stupid(kind of used to it...lol...) where is USNW Crane? Is that the old Ammo Plant in Clark County?

US Naval Warfare Center - Crane, Indiana - Martin County

Crane is west of Bedford and southeast of Bloomfield which puts it in parts of Greene, Lawrence, and Martin Counties, I believe.

Crane is a naval surface warfare research and production facility. Deck guns and that sort of thing. I hate to think how many ammunition bunkers there are down there. I did a couple of projects at Crane back in the 90's so I spent several days on site. Interesting place.

There is a railroad line that runs through Crane complete with a tunnel. It was part of the Milwaukee Railroad line that ran from Terre Haute to Seymour. Ownership transferred to Soo Line, CP Rail, then Indiana Railroad. Unfortunately, CSX cut off INRDs access to Louisville through Bedford, so INRD has taken up some of the track in that area.
