Hey,

So I've recently been spending time at a friend's house within a dozen blocks of the White House, and I brought down my Uniden BC60XLT-1 handheld. I punched in a bunch of the frequencies mentioned in the Secret Service section of this site's Wiki, hoping to hear some of that traffic, but all of the frequencies gave me either dead air, or just an occasional, brief burst of static.

I assume this means that these frequencies are encrypted (which would make sense.) Does anyone know of any USSS channels that broadcast in the clear, or anything relating to the White House that does?

Thanks,
-Matt

Im not familiar with the USSS freqs and radios but you may be too far away to hear them. I imagine they would be some low power portables possible. Then again it could possibly be encrypted.

I got this from Eric's webpage. It’s pretty much everything is encrypted; Once in a while you have one who forgets to turn on the encryption mode.
