Ut County Frequencies
Tim
Please accept my apology. Tonight I have been trying to resolve some possible discrepancies w/ the Ut County frequencies. I had hoped to reach some resolution before you changed the DB.
As it turns out the issues are pretty minor, but I would like some opinions on what is going on.
1. Junior1970 noted that testing had proceeded up to channel 11. This would imply at least 11 frequencies. My previous post showed only 10, and 1 of them had an unusually low hit count compared to the others.
2. When I took the screen print of the 'calls' from UniTrunker, every frequency was busy except the one with the low hit count. The system seems to be at max capacity 1 day after rebanding!
3. I thought that maybe some of the channels were still not online, especially given that they were having some trouble the night before.
4. I checked the FCC database and identified the call sign being used - WPRS306. I expected to find some additional frequencies that were not yet online, thinking we should consider including them in the DB update.
5. I did find 11 frequencies, as indicated by JR, but they did not exactly match my Unitrunker screens. I deleted all freqs from UT so they would be re-detected and left it running overnight again. This time I got 13 frequencies. 4 had unusually low hit counts. One of those had only 1 hit and was not listed on the FCC license, so I considered it an anomoly and removed it. That still leaves 12.
6. 852.1125, 852.7500, & 852.9500 show up on UT, but are not on the FCC permit. 2 of them have low hit counts, so maybe a data error by my radio or some other anomoly ??. One hit I could believe data error, but 4 or 5 hits w/ the exact same error ?? Then there is still 852.9500 with thousands of hits a day, and not even on the license.
7. 852.6625 & 852.9625 are on the license, but are apparently not being used. If the system is running near max capacity, why not use all the channels? I can imagine 'borrowing' a couple extra freqs in a pinch until they can be applied for and issued, but why not use all the ones already on the license before doing that?
It's really no big deal. I just thought I would find some rhyme or reason if I looked hard enough. I think it's OK to enter what we know for now and see what shakes out in the next month or so. Attached are the screens from UT and the FCC permit.
ALSO, Tim- The note for this site in the DB says 'located at the County Jail', which is obviously only partially correct, since there are 4 sites. Or does that mean that the dispatch center is at the Jail? That would be correct.
