I use ARC246 to send data to my BC246 but everytime I try to upload my UCAN System I get a error that says, Error Creating New Channel, No Resourse Available. If I check the scanner, I have only use around 21% of the memory and only about 1/2 of the UCAN System gets sent to the scanner. I have sent many other trunking systems to this scanner without any issues.

I use the RR Database from RadioReference.com to get my trunking info so if anyone else wants to take a stab at it, take a look at the Utah UCAN System. There are over a hundred fregs and over 300 TGs to program in and I am not doing it correctly.

Can someone that scans in Utah upload their UCAN Trunking files so I can get a reference on how it should be done.

Thank You.

I am guessing that somehow you have embedded a contol character or some other invalid character in the ARC db. Since it streams into the radio in a serial fashion, look just after the last valid things being entered (just before the error hits) and then go forward and see if you can spot it. If you can't try re-entering that stuff for a few entries and then try the load again.

The BC246T has a limit of 200 TGIDs per system, if you exceed '200' you'll get a memory full error
no matter how much free memory is available on the BC246T..........

After loumaag's post, I counted how many TGIDs was getting store and the magic number of 200 came up. So thanks for the reply, loumaag and FrankT. Can anyone take a look at the system in question and give us UT folks advice on how you would program this large system in. I tried to separate it into the larger counties but ended up with a bigger mess. Thanks.

My take on things that have that many TG's is to duplicate the banks (as far as frequencies go) and then put different scan lists on the different banks. Like make bank 1 Law Enforcement, Bank 2 Fire/EMS/Rescue, etc. The key is to just scan more than one bank at a time. I don't know (cause I don't have one) if the 246T has the same problem as other Uniden scanners of limiting the number sites to 1 per bank, but if so, that can be defeated with the L/O key, knowing where you are, and good descriptive Alpha Tags on the Freq's.
